Heather Brown, LMT
New York, NY

Heather is the Co-Director of Teaching at the Open Center.

In the mid-seventies I began to explore the body-emotion-mind connection through Release Technique, Vipassana meditation, Contact Improvisation and Body Mind Centering. I also discovered the Rosen Method and moved to Berkeley to complete the Rosen Bodywork and Movement trainings. For the last 27 years I have had a lively, full-time bodywork practice in New York City. In addition, I lead bi-monthly supervision groups for Rosen and other bodywork professionals, supervise Rosen interns and teach an on-going Fall and Spring Series of Classes for certification and self-discovery. I am also a mother. My work is nourished by my love of the dharma and my experience of the possibility for people to transform through receiving kind touch and close attention.

Ivy Green, MA Psych, LMT
Saugerties, NY

Co-Director of Teaching at the Open Center.

Rosen Method Bodywork allows me to listen with my hands and respond with my heartand mind. I find being a Practitioner, Teacher, and Supervisor very emotionally rewarding because of the relationship Rosen Method allows me to create with  individuals who are willing to exploretheir potential for fuller lives. My book, Relaxation Awareness Resilience, Rosen Method Science and Practice, ( grew out of my desire to understand how Rosen Method impacts our neurology, physiology, and psychology. My hope is that the book gives this simple, elegant and powerful Method a larger voice that can be heard in the worlds of mindfulness, embodied self-awareness, spirituality, and body-centered educational and therapeutic methods.

She says: "All my work creates a safe space for people to be who they really are."

Joyce Silverstone
Northampton, MA

I started receiving Rosen Method sessions in 1985 when I was experiencing grief from the loss of a dear friend. I found that the touch of my practitioner helped me feel connected again, to my sorrow, and to the pleasure of being with someone who recognized me, the one beneath the pain, and wanted to know more about my inner experience. Rosen Method has helped me through many life transitions, including motherhood, love, growing older, and the joys of being a visual artist. I feel inspired about teaching and practicing Rosen Method, currently supported by studying yoga, meditation, Somatic Experiencing and my ongoing practice as a visual artist.

Adrienne Stone, PT

To my Rosen practice I bring 40+ years experience as a physical therapist. I appreciate how this work continues to bring us closer to the essence of ourselves. The joy of Rosen movement captured me initially and inspired me to learn to teach it so I would always have it for myself! The simplicity and effectiveness of Rosen Movement continues to nourish and support me as I teach weekly classes. I have been a practitioner of both since 1996.I am a long time practitioner and teacher of The Trager® Approach. My yoga and meditation, involvement with the Meeks Method and Somatic Experiencing also informs my life and work. My active practice is in Katonah, NY and NYC.
